Did you watch the Olympics? We did and really got caught up in Olympic fever. The boys loved watching the events and cheering on the athletes. I think I watched more of this years Olympics than any of the others. I loved the fantastic opening ceremony. The older two boys learnt something about our rich history too. The last two weeks events have led to countless late nights in our household as we have watched Team GB and the other competing countries compete against each other.
But how many of you know anything about the history of the Olympics? The Amazing People Club has created a series of iBooks (books for the iPad) about the history of the games and will also introduce and celebrate some amazing people through Olympic history. The iBooks feature interactive quizzes and audio stories. Come ‘face to face’ with amazing characters including Socrates in Ancient Greece who talks about the first games and Jesse Owens who broke racial barriers and records when he took four gold medals at the Olympic games in Berlin in 1936.

Archery, such skill involved to get just a point more needed to win as everyone is so good at it. Just love the tension of the sport. Edge of the seat stuff.
