Project 365 – week 16

It’s been a week of getting back into routines both old and new here, with the older two returning to school after the Easter break and Rowan starting their school part time.  It’s meant a few afternoons a week I have a few hours with just Erin and myself, something that hasn’t really happened much until now.
Sunday – I have bought a few gorgeous crochet headbands (her pretties as we’ve been calling them) from a talented friend, lately for Erin.  So I’ve been trying to encourage her to wear them.  She will tolerate them for a short time before she pulls them off.  But then she will try to put them on again herself.  In this picture she had just managed to put the headband on herself and I had been telling her how clever she was.
Monday Rowan’s first afternoon in the reception class and first time wearing a uniform.  He looked so small and cute.  It was a day that he has been looking forward to for the last six months so was so excited.  Needless to say I didn’t even get a goodbye when I took him!
Tuesday – We did some Sea life themed water play on the patio.  I had found a pair of Rowan’s old wellies and put them on Erin.  She was so pleased with them and spent ages pottering around the water table.
Wednesday – A day of great excitement here as we have been chosen to be QuinnyCasters this year.  I can’t begin to tell you how excited I was on Wednesday because we were expecting the delivery of our Moodd.  I hadn’t quite believed it was happening until that point.
Thursday – I dug out some of our Happy Land collection to introduce Erin and the little one I was looking after too.  Erin was fascinated by the little figures and sat babbling to them.  We spent a lovely morning setting up a small village scene and playing with the various vehicles and figures.
Friday – Erin has started walking properly this week.  Having started crawling on New Year’s Eve and coasting a few days later we thought she would find her feet shortly afterwards.  However she had different ideas.  But this week she suddenly progressed from the first tentative steps to walking between furniture.  If Trystan has been around he was counted her steps and praised her loudly much to Erin’s delight.  I think it spurred her on and by Friday she was walking more than crawling.  She was been picking up the plastic stool from the toy keyboard and carrying it around the room, putting it down walking away then returning to it and picking it up and moving it somewhere else in the room.
Saturday – This afternoon Luc, Rowan, Erin and I headed for one of the nearby parks to enjoy the sunshine.  It was the first proper outing for the Moodd apart from two brief school runs.  Erin seems so comfortable in the Moodd and kicked her legs excitedly as we made our way to the park.
