Project 365 – Week 44

This week has been half term here and has been a mixed week.  The awful weather for the first half meant we couldn’t get out and about as I had hoped which led to the boys having cabin fever after two days!  The second half though we managed two trips out thankfully which were well needed by then.

298After a lazy start to our day with all of us relaxing in our pj’s, I decided it would be nice to play some games with the boys.  So I dug out my Usborne snacks and Ladders game and dominoes.  I think snakes and ladders went down well with the boys and the first game took as almost an hour to complete!

299Dad of 3 was back in work as usual today so I decided to get all the housework out of the way so that I could sit and relax with the children for a bit.  While I tacked the cleaning and washing the boys played snap and read.  Then after lunch we watched movies and introduced the to E.T for the first time which the boys thoroughly enjoyed.

300Today for lunch I decided to get the children involved and as it was a bit nippy we made mini pizza’s using muffins.  All the children enjoyed getting hands on and the pizza’s tasted great once cooked.

301Today was spent finishing off Halloween crafts which took us several hours but led to excitement building.  Then after dinner the younger two decided they wanted to take some selfies on my phone, little monkeys!

302Late this morning we made our way over to Cilgerran and the Welsh Wildlife Centre where I had booked the boys into their Forest school session for a couple of hours.  Before the session started we explored the badger sculpture as we always do.  It was interesting to  see the grass starting to grow over the sculpture in places.  Luc seemed to enjoy Forest school more than the other two but all three enjoyed looking for bugs and learning about the hedgerow.

Happy Halloween! We had another quiet day today.  Since the clocks went back last weekend the younger two have been waking a good two hours earlier than they usually do and have woken the whole house in the process.  So we watched TV together and decided on what costumes the boys and Erin were going to wear to tea with Granny and Dadcu this evening!  Dad of 3 usually carves the pumpkins but hadn’t had a chance so far during the week.  So I decided to attempt a Minnie Mouse for Erin!  I don’t think I did too badly! although I broke one of her eyes! oops but Erin loved it which is the main thing.

304Today we traveled to Cardiff to go to the Dr Who Experience at Cardiff Bay.  The boys were very excited as the experience had undergone some updating the previous weekend.  I have to say we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience, it’s very well done and a treat for all Dr Who fans.

I hope you’ve all had a good week ….

I love the Usborne illustrations, they always remind me of a language book I had when I was little. And ET!!!! One of my favourite films. Ever! 🙂

  4. The Dr Who experience sounds fun. That badger is amazing, and great that they were running a club for them.
ET is a great film, have you introduced them to Batteries not Included and Short Curcuit, they are good as well.
