I was recently sent this gorgeous Babymel ‘Amanda’ baby bag to review. I was sent it in the floral black print but it also available in six other prints and retails at £49.95.
The Amanda bag features a padded wipe clean change mat that fits snugly inside, a variety of pockets inside and outside, an insulated bottle pocket and wipe clean lining. All the linings are water resistant. The outside of the bag is also wipe clean. One of the feature’s I love about this bag is the stroller strap. On both sides of the strap is a Velcro section which you undo and then secure around the handle of your pram/pushchair before before threading the strap back through the ring and securing again. I think this makes the bag far more secure when using on your pushchair/pram than any of the other baby bags I have used over the year. The strap itself is adjustable and very comfortable when wearing over your shoulder thanks to its soft yet durable material.
I have now been using this bag for just over a fortnight and have found it fantastic. It does not look like your average baby bag when you first look at it and instead taking my handbag out as well as a change bag, I have been able to put a few essentials like my mobile, purse etc in the Amanda bag as well. I have had a people ask me where I got my handbag from the last few times I have taken it out with us and they have been surprised when I’ve explained its actually a baby bag. I think this works in the bags favour as means you can use it once you no longer have the need for a baby bag.
The water resistant lining has also been a godsend as we’ve discovered one of Rowan’s beaker which we thought was leak proof isn’t! So thankfully when I discovered it had leaked when in one of the interior pockets of the bag the lining had prevented it leaking throughout the whole bag. This certainly is a fantastic bag and I am looking forward to being able to continue using it with the new baby.

I was also kindly sent one of Babymel’s Double bottle holders as well. This lovely Zebra print double bottle holder costs £12.50 and is also available in fuchsia and navy. The holder opens to reveal two zipped pockets that are both lined with PET insulation to keep bottle cool. I haven’t yet used the double bottle holder and although I am intending to breastfeed the new baby I am also hoping to express so that others can help with feeds. So I am sure it won’t be too long before I can try it out. The double bottle holder also has a handy clip which enables it to be clipped to your pushchair/pram or even your change bag securely.
