Heinz ‘Get well Soup’ and Sara Cox help Starlight bring festive cheer to children’s hospital wards.

With Christmas fast approaching Heinz soup has come up with a fantastic way to not only cheer you a sick friend or relative.  By visiting Heinz Soup UK’s facebook page and using the ‘Get Well Soup’ app you can send a personalised can or Tomato or Chicken soup to your friend or relative to help them ‘get well soon’.  However it does not end there, Heinz are going on step further.  For every 90 cans of personalised soup bought, Heinz will fund one Pantomime with Starlight Children’s Foundation, bringing the laughter and fun to Children’s Hospital Wards and hospices up and down the country.
Heinz are hoping to have enough personalised cans of ‘Get well soup’ bought to be able to help provide 65 pantomimes throughout the country.  Starlight’s Pantomime this year is Dick Whittington.  Every year Starlight help to brighten more than 500,000 poorly children in hospitals and hospices.  These pantomime performs will help seriously ill children across the UK forget about their illness and help them have a bit of fun
Sara Cox who is supporting the campaign and meeting with young patients and staff at the launch on a paediatric ward at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, part of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust comments “There are lots of ways to make someone who is under the weather feel a bit more cheerful, my mum used to give me Heinz Tomato Soup, but a bit of fun and laughter works a treat as well! It’s such a lovely feeling to see these kid’s faces light up with something as simple as a little entertainment.” (Taken from press release)

Neil Swan from Starlight adds “We are delighted to be working with Heinz to bring some much-needed festive cheer to thousands of very poorly children and their families.  Happy children get better more quickly and we hope that the ‘Get Well’ Soup campaign will make a big difference to children battling illness in hospital this Christmas.”
Sally Meekins from Heinz adds “The performance of Dick Whittington is so fun and engaging, we are sure the kids are going to love it! It’s great to know that together with Starlight, Heinz fans are bringing a bit of sparkle to children’s hospital wards this Christmas.”
Heinz is aiming to raise 3,000 minutes of entertainment which will fund a performance of Starlight’s pantomime in over 65 hospital wards across the UK, this festive season.
