As a child I used to love watching Snoopy and Charlie Brown. It was one of those shows that I would sit and watch with my brother’s and sister. There’s something about the characters in the show that make you smile and you can identify with. So I was delighted when I discovered last year that they were realising Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie. I couldn’t wait to watch it with the children and relive my love of Snoopy.
I was lucky enough to have the chance to watch the movie on download thanks to Mumsnet over half term. It was the first time my children had seen Snoopy and Charlie Brown and I hoped they would love them as much as I do. Right from the start of the film all four children sat quietly and were hooked. The only noise was our giggles throughout the movie. I loved the fact that all of us enjoyed the movie despite the differing ages. I can’t pin point one specific scene that had us in giggles because to be honest there were so many. It’s one of those films that kept us all entertained throughout.
My favourite character has always been Snoopy, along with Charlie Brown and Lucy. Having watched the Peanut Movie that’s still the case. I did like the scene where they are all ice skating, it reminded me of one of the Christmas episodes I had watched as a child. But honestly the movie stays true to the original series and all the characters have their own traits which are shown in the same way.
So what is the Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie about? good ol’ Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Linus and the rest of the beloved Peanuts gang appear as you’ve never seen them before in a brand-new feature film from the imagination of Charles M. Schulz and the creators of Ice Age. Join everyone’s favourite eternal optimist, Charlie Brown, as he embarks on a heroic quest, while his beagle pal Snoopy takes to the skies to pursue his arch nemesis, the Red Baron. It’s a hilarious and heart-warming adventure! (taken from information provided on the movie)
Snoopy and Charlie Brown: The Peanuts Movie is out now to buy on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD now from all good stockists. On the Blu-ray and Dvd versions you will also get some special features too. Sadly we have not seen the special features but I have a feeling that one of the children will be asking for a dvd copy for their birthday soon so we’ll have the chance to see them then.
We watched the movie over half term which provided the opportunity to sit and relax as a family. However it would make a great movie to watch over a weekend or in fact anytime. It’s been a big hit here and since watching the movie I’ve shown the children some old episodes of Charlie Brown and Snoopy which I have equally enjoyed sharing with the children.
