“Daddy, I’m A Zombie” dvd review

This week were sent a copy ofDaddy, I’m a Zombie” on dvd to watch by Lionsgate films, just in time for Halloween.  All the boys love anything with Zombie’s at present so were very excited when they came home to see the dvd waiting for them.  So one evening after dinner we decided to let them watch it.
Right from the start the animation in the film is dark and gives that spooky feeling.  Rowan was a bit frightened and hid behind the sofa peering out.  He did venture out when he realised it was not so frightening and came to sit on my lap.  But as the storyline progressed there were a few other places that Rowan was frightened of.  The older two boys however were glued to it and didn’t find it too frightening.  I sat and watched it with the boys and I thought it was a good storyline which kept your attention throughout.  The animation was fantastic and the characters easy to identify with.  This enjoyable animation is perfect for children over the age of 5 years I would say as it is a little dark in terms of colour and younger children like Rowan may find it frightening in places.  This is a perfect Halloween watch for all the family.
“Daddy, I’m a Zombie” was released on October 1st 2012 and retails at around £6.99.
It is a Certificate PG (parental guidance) and available for all good stockists.  The running time is 79 minutes which I think is a good length for children.
“Join Dixie and friends on a spooky adventure to a magical world of Witches, Pirates and Mummies!”
It’s not everyday that you’re transformed into a Zombie but that’s exactly what happens to Dixie!
Finding herself in a strange new world, she must befriend Iris (an Egyptian mummy princess) and Gonner (a pirate cabin boy) and defeat evil witch Nubulosa, so that she can find her way home!”          Taken from the back of the dvd box
