A while ago I was sent some bedding from B-Sensible. I was sent a cot-bed fitted sheet and mattress protector from the B-Sensible for babies range and a Single Duvet Cover. I was also sent a single bed fitted sheet which I will be using as a giveaway at the end of this post.
I had never heard of B-Sensible before so was keen to try the sheet and duvet cover out. As we are potty training Rowan it made sense to use the cot bed fitted sheet on his bed. I’ve been using the traditional waterproof sheets on all the boys sheets since Luc was potty training. My experience of the traditional waterproof sheets has been a bit hit and miss to be honest with you. Some I have found are rip resistant while others have been torn within several days of being put on the bed. All of them have had to be used underneath a normal fitted sheet which has sometimes meant the bed has been a bit more slippy. So I was really surprised to find that the fitted sheet and mattress protector was an all in one product that could be used just like a normal sheet without the need for a separate waterproof sheet underneath.
The sheet felt lovely and soft and is made from 100% natural TENCEL thermo-regulating fabric. It provides a natural barrier against mites and bacteria so is ideal for children who suffer with asthma, eczema and sensitive skin. I have to say that in the twelve weeks we have been using the fitted sheet and mattress protector both myself and dad of 3 have been very impressed with it. Rowan suffers from asthma and sensitive skin and this sheet has meant his skin has been less prone to heat rash and sweat rash than he has previously been. Additionally if his pull up has leaked at night his sleep has not been disturbed either which has made a huge difference to him. We have been able to just change the sheet the following morning, wash it, dry it and more often than not been able to put it back on his bed that night. The sheet is tumble drier safe as well.
We were sent the cot-bed sheet in white but there are 24 colours available and they are available in: moses basket, cot, cot bed and single sheet size. The Cot bed size I was sent retails at approx £24.99 and is available from a range of retailers including Toys R Us and Kiddicare.com
We were also sent the 2 in 1 Duvet cover and protector in single bed size. I used this on Trystan’s bed as he is also asthmatic and tends to suffer a lot at night with his asthma as well as sweating a lot during the night. The duvet cover is also made from TENCEL which is 100 % natural. It too is breathable, waterproof and stretchable. The duvet cover actually protects the duvet from perspiration. The fabric is incredibly soft and comfortable to sleep under. It is also machine washable and can be put in the tumble drier. Trystan has really enjoyed having this on his bed and has been less inclined to throw his duvet off at night. The fact that the duvet cover acts as a barrier against bacteria and mites as well has also meant we have had less incidents of Trystan waking at night needing to take his asthma pump. We were sent the duvet cover in white which I was a bit dubious about using on Trystan’s bed at first as being a typical boys he seems to spill drinks and drop food etc on his bed but I needn’t have worried as the duvet cover also protects against spills and stains which is great for any child’s bedding. The duvet cover is however available in 24 colours and is also available in the following sizes: Cot bed, single bed, Double bed and King size bed. The single bed duvet cover I was sent retails at around £57.40 which is pricey for a duvet cover however if you think about the properties it has and the fact that it can reduce symptoms of asthma etc I think it is worth the investment.
