Lego Batman 2: DC Heroes on Xbox 360

We were recently sent Lego Batman 2:DC Heroes for the Xbox 360 to play.  I can’t tell you how excited the boys were when the package arrived especially Rowan who is literally Batman mad at the moment.  Rowan quickly laid claim to the fantastic Batman mask and immediately put it on.

All three boys have started playing on dad of three’s xbox 360 but finding games that are suitable for them is quite difficult.  There are aspects of games that they are each good at.    Since Lego Batman 2: DC Heroes they have all played it and if one of them has been stuck on a section another one will help them through.  It has been lovely to see them all working together.  The older two have had to play when Rowan isn’t around as he tends to want to play and not give them a turn! something that we have been trying to work on in general! Lego Batman 2: DC Heroes has enabled each of the boys to develop their gaming skills, they have played the game a hand full of times since it arrived but I have noticed their skills improve each time.

For those that don’t know about Lego Batman here is a bit about the new game taken from the press release:
“Batman and Robin return in LEGO® Batman™ 2: DC Super Heroes, the highly-anticipated sequel to the best-selling LEGO® videogame of all time, which to date has sold more than 11 million units worldwide.  This time the Dynamic Duo join forces with other famous DC super heroes including Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern to stop the notorious villains Lex Luthor and The Joker from destroying Gotham City.   Batman fans of all ages will enjoy a new and original story filled with classic LEGO videogame action and humour as players fight to put the bad guys back behind bars.”
The boys are only allowed to play on the xbox  for a set period of time and we often use time on the xbox as a reward for them.  They usually have a choice of game they would like to play and since Lego Batman 2: DC Heroes has arrived the boys have asked to play it at every opportunity.  Despite the game being rated 7 years plus Rowan enjoys playing it and is able to complete a lot of the tasks within the game.  He has needed a little help but then so have the older two.
We don’t have the first Lego Batman but that has not impacted on the boys ability to play the game.  So I would say you don’t need to have played the first game prior to this one.  There are lots of collectibles such as suits to help complete levels.  It can be played 2 player co-operatively.  There is lots of action and  challenges within each level of the game.  Trystan has managed to complete the first level without much help at all.  Some of the challenges are quite hard as well.  The graphics are great and there are interchangeable characters you can play with.   Each character has special abilities with their suits, Robin an acrobat and Batman a stealth Suit.
The boys have enjoyed playing and look forward to being allowed time on the Xbox to play.  The game has provided great fun and endless jumping around with excitement.  A great game for children.
Lego Batman 2: DC Heroes is available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, wii and also PC.  It is available from all good retailers and retails at £34.99 including Game which can be found here
