An autumn evening stroll

The weather last Sunday was glorious here one of those autumn days which is not too cold and sunny, perfect for a stroll on the beach.  I had promised the boys that if it was dry we would go for a walk on the beach as the weather the previous few days had been awful.  Not knowing how long the dry spell was going to last we decided to head for the beach after Sunday dinner.
Trystan has recently started playing rugby for the local town under 8s team and has been dying to have the chance to have the opportunity to have a kick about with his dad.  So dad of 3 suggested we take the rugby ball with us to the beach.   We are blessed we lots of lovely beaches but one of our favourites is Poppit as its a ten minute drive with its golden sands and stunning views.  I love the beach at this time of year, the smell of the changing season in the air mixed with the smell of the sea and having to wrap up in warm coats.  But best of all the beach is mainly for the enjoyment of local people and their families.  There’s no need to use the over flow field for parking,  que to get that ice cream or search for an empty spot to set up to enjoy the beach.  We have the run of the whole beach along with a few kite flyer’s, the odd surfer but mainly families out for an evening stroll or dog walkers.
We were there for about an hour with the sun starting to set and the views were fantastic so I took the opportunity to take some photographs while dad of 3 showed the boys his rugby skills.  I had Erin in the sling and made the most of the relatively quiet walk alone the cold sand taking in the atmosphere.  Ever now and again Rowan would chase after me to say hi or ask me to watch what they were doing.  It was a perfect end to a lovely autumn day.

What a beautiful evening for the beach, it was so mild last week too. Like you I love the beach at this time of the year. So peaceful, great idea to practice the rugby, we often take a kite down too, but if the waves are good I can’t resist a surf! Thank you for linking up with your wonderful photos, I want to pack up and go down now for a walk!

we spend so much more time at the beach this time of year when we have it more or less to ourselves 🙂

  3. Lovely photos, those impromptu evenings out are some of the best I think. I really wish we lived nearer to the coast, we so rarely get to the beach.
