We’ve been learning about keeping safe in the sun with Ciccobello Sunny

Staying safe in the sun is something that is very important.  I have always been aware of the dangers of being exposed to exposed to the sun for too long.  I’ve always used the phrase “Slip, Slap, Slop”, Slip on a t-shirt, Slap on a hat and Slop on the Sun cream when teaching the children about Sun Safety but now thanks to Flair I have another great way.

For the last couple of weeks we have been using the new Ciccobello Sunny to help the children learn about Sun Safety.  This lovely doll is the latest addition to the Ciccobello range.  He is a slightly smaller doll but still have moving eyes, arms and legs along with hair.  He comes wearing shorts and t-shirt and sunglasses ready for outdoor play.   Ciccobello Sunny also comes with a UV Pendant (for him) and a UV wristband for you to wear.

ciccobello sunny a By taking Ciccobello Sunny outside to play with you he will also help your child learn about staying safe in the sun.  This clever doll’s tummy and face will start to develop a tan when exposed to the Sun for too long.  Along with this you will be able to see his UV pendant change colour too and indicate if Ciccobello is happy or not.  When wearing the UV wristband your child will also see it will change colour when exposed to the Sun for too long. Ciccobello Sunny has helped prompt discussions with Erin and the boys about staying safe in the sun and how we can protect ourselves while still having fun outside.

Erin has really enjoyed playing with Ciccobello Sunny this last few weeks and he was accompanied us on walks along the beach and out into the garden.  It’s been fascinating to watch Sunny’s tummy and face changing colour in the Sun and it has certainly made Erin more aware of the need to cover up in the sun despite the fact it is only Spring.

ciccobello sunnybI have always tended to only put sun cream on if I know we will be out for over 20 minutes at a time.  However having seen how quickly the UV pendant and wristband changed colour even after a few minutes outside, its made realise that we should be covering up every time we go out in the sunny weather.

ciccobello sunny bCiccobello Sunny has proved to be a great aid to helping Erin and her brothers learn about Sun Safety so far and he will continue to do so.   It will be interesting to see how the little ones I look after react to him when they are introduced.

ciccobello sunnycWhen Erin first had Ciccobello Sunny she initially just played with him as she would any other doll.  However she quickly realised the significance of keeping him out of the sun or covered up and in turn keeping herself covered too.  We have miss placed Sunny’s sunglasses unfortunately but I’m sure they will reappear shortly.  But they don’t detract from the message Ciccobello Sunny has and it is certainly helped address it with us all.

Ciccobello Sunny has a rrp of £29.99 and is available from all good stockists.  It may seem a little expensive but actually is on par with a lot of other dolls on the market.  I personally would happily pay this price as really does help your children learn about the importance of Sun Safety.

Disclaimer: We were sent the Ciccobello Sunny for the purpose of this post however the content is 100% my own.
