Like many people we occasionally play the lottery, usually when it’s a roll over. Part of playing the lottery is that it allows you to dream about what you would spend the money on if you won. It only tends to be a line or occasionally two. We’ve also tried lottories from other countries too. I know I’ve mentioned previously that it’s something dad of 3 and I talk about from time to time and that’s something that hasn’t changed. However the thing I have realised that has changed is the things we would spend the money on.
One of the first things I would do is book the whole family a lovely holiday, probably to Disneyland Florida as it’s somewhere I’ve always wanted to visit. I would love to explore the different parks and attractions and it really would be one of those holidays of a lifetime for me. A Holiday is also something that is high up on Dad of 3’s wish list, but to Germany to visit the castles, is where he would go.
Once holidays had been taken dad of 3 would really like to build us a house, something overlooking the coast with some land would be his ideal. Building houses is in dad of 3’s blood as his parents built three houses and the last one dad of 3 helped with as a teenager. He feels that building your own home allows you to design a home which will accommodate your families needs. I have to admit it would be a lovely thing to do all be it a stressful process. As we go out exploring the coast around us, he will often say “that would be a great spot to build a house”. Then we will sit quietly for a while taking in the scenery around us.
I would spend some of my lottery win on a big family get together as it’s something we don’t get a chance to do often, the last time was my sister’s wedding over eighteen months ago. It wouldn’t be for just my side of the family though, but for both sides, so a big affair but one that creates memories for us all to treasure. Of course I would use the get together as an opportunity to update the photo album! As one things I’ve realised is that as we lose our nearest and dearest, having photographs to look back on is important.
I think I would buy myself a new car if I needed one and dad of 3 one too. Dad of 3 also likes the idea of having our own boat, nothing big just something we could take out into the buy and maybe fish from. Or maybe something that the boys could sail as they are thoroughly enjoying learning to sail optimists at present.
Then if there was any money left I would have to put into a savings account ready for a rainy day. I think this is something that has become more important to me as my family gets older as I would like to be able to help them go to University if they want to when the time comes. Also to know we had some financial security would be great.
So as you can see our wish list for a lottery win has evolved over the last year and I’m sure it may change again in time. Is there something you have always wanted to spend a lottery win on or do you change your wish list frequently?
