I can’t really remember a time when I didn’t wear a watch. A watch is something I’ve always seen as a practical item and have never really been bothered if a watch was fashionable or not. However that has now changed thanks to Jord Wooden Watches.
Back towards the end of last year I was approached by Jord and asked if I would like to try out one of their wooden watches and share my thoughts with you all. Jord are a watch company based in America who specialize in wooden watches. They also ship worldwide making wooden watches accessible to all. I was asked to choose a watch from a selection available from Jord, I can tell you it was a hard decision to make as they have so many gorgeous watches but finally I opted for a Zebrawood and Champagne watch. I downloaded a measuring gauge from the website so I could measure my wrist to find the size I would require. It was a really easy process and took a couple of minutes to download, print out and then measure my wrist. With the measurement obtained, I sent over the information to Jord, then I had to sit and wait for my new watch to arrive.
Just over three weeks later I came home to find a small package had arrived, it took me a minute to realise it was my watch. The watch arrived in a lovely wooden box and was nestled on its own presentation pillow, it all made it look and feel very luxurious. I couldn’t wait to try it on. Unfortunately it was slightly too big which is something I had been told can happen as the wooden links are generally about a cm in width and can’t be customised. It is easily fixed by removing a couple of the links. To do this I visited my local jewelers who easily and quickly removed two links for me while I waited. I think it cost me £1.50 for it to be done and I was really pleased that the watch now fitted and I could wear it.
The face of the watch is quite large and as I have quite small wrists I was worried it would look out of place when I was wearing it. My previous watches have always had small faces and been quite delicate looking. However I was keen to try a different style of watch this time and I am so glad I did. I love the colour combination of the dark wood with it’s dark zebra strips in it against the champagne of the watch face.
It did take a few days to get used to wearing a bigger watch but now several weeks on, I actually don’t notice the size. I’ve had so many lovely comments about the watch too when others have seen it. In fact having a bigger watch face has proved quite practical for me as I work with children so more often then not I can only grab a quick glance at my watch to check the time and the bigger face is perfect for this. I’m really pleased with my wooden watch and on the odd occasion I don’t have it on, I feel really lost without it. My watch cost $189 but there are also watches available from $139. It my seem expensive but when you see the workman ship that goes into these gorgeous watches it’s really reasonable I feel. It’s also works slightly cheaper when you convert to UK pounds. So thank you Jord for introducing me to your gorgeous wooden watches.

What a gorgeous watch!! I’ve never seen one like these. My husband loves to work with wood so this would be up his alley.
