We were recently sent the Paint Pop Paint Sticks Creation Station and Paint Pop Paint Sticks Gaint Storage Tube to try out. Now we love the chance to get creative so we were keen to give them a go. E thought it would be nice to use them with her cousins T and A as they also enjoy painting. So we decided to take them with us after school last week to my parents to try out with the three of them. E and I will usually pop over once a week when T and A are with my parents so they can all spend time together so this seemed like a fun activity for them all to do.

As soon as we arrived at my parents T and A were excited to see what E and myself had brought with us. So we went through into the conservatory where there is lots of light and a large table, to get the Paint Pop Paint Stick Creation Station out. All three children were very excited to get stuck in with the painting. So I helped them set the Creation Station up which features a double sided easel, one that enables you to clip paper on and the other that is wipe clean so you can paint directly onto the easel. The Paint Pop Paint Stick Creation Station comes with ten sheets of plain white A4 paper, a cute wipe away duster and six Paint Pop Paint Sticks so that you can get painting straight away. The Paint Pop Paint Stick Giant Storage Tube contains 30 Paint Pop Paint Sticks, 12 classic colours, 12 Metallic Colours and 6 Neon colours. So you have lots of choice for your creative masterpieces.

We had a brief arguement over who was going to use the Creation Station first, which I quickly resolved by saying two people could use it at the same time, one on each side. This solution was accepted and the children got stuck in and enjoyed painting. Initially A wanted to simply paint the whole of the wipe clean easel and wipe it clean again. All three children were very excited to see that despite what they painted on it the duster managed to wipe it clean without leaving any mess. However I would say that when using the dark blue Paint Pop Paint Stick it did leave some colour behind around the edge of the wipeclean area but it was quickly dealt with using a damp cloth. This didn’t effect the use of the wipeclean easal either.

I alway enjoy the time we spend after school with the children, it’s so lovely watching them all playing together. I like the way they work together when undertaking tasks, E will usually ensure her cousins are okay and will help them where needed. But one thing I liked about the Paint Pop Paint Sticks Creation Station and Paint Pop Paint Sticks was that each of the children were able to use them indepentently. Both the Paint Pop Paint Stick Creation Station and the Paint Pop Paint Sticks Giant Storage Tube are suitable from age 3 plus. A is 3 years old, T is 5 years old and E is 10 years old, all three of them were able to use the Paint Pop Paint Sticks without any problems. A inevitably tried to paint herself, hence having taken her school polo shirt off her before we started ( I could’nt find the aprons) but we needn’t have worried as the paint quickly wiped off with a damp cloth. Once A realised myself or her grandparents were not worried about her painting on herself she quickly lost interest and got stuck into painting pictures.

Don’t get me wrong I have always encouraged my children to enjoy getting creative but I’m sure that I am not alone in dreading the clean up afterwards. However with Paint Pop Paint Sticks you really don’t have to worry about the clean up, they really do enable you to paint away the mess free way!

That first afternoon we tried the Paint Pop Paint Stick Creation Station out the three children spent a good hour painting together, myself and my parents even managed to have a cuppa while they had fun. When they were ready to stop they each wanted to take a turn in wiping the wipe clean side clean and helping to pack away. Another thing I like about these products is that everything can be stored away in the gaint storage tube and creation station, making tidying up easy too and every thing wipes clean so easily.

When I asked each of the children if they had liked using the Paint Pop Paint Stick items they quickly all shouted yes, T then asked if they could do it again next time. So I agreed it would be a good idea and suggested that I leave the Paint Pop Paint Stick Creation Station and Paint Pop Paint Stick Giant Storage Tube at my parents so they could continue to use them together. This suggestion was greated by excited squeals from them all.
We haven’t had the chance to call over again yet but I know from my parents that A and T have used the Paint Pop Paint Sticks again and we have promised to pop over later this week for another after school creative session.
Paint Pop Paint Sticks Creative Station retails at £24.99 and the Paint Pop Paint Stick Giant Storage Tube retails at £19.99. Both I think are great value and will provide hours of creative fun both used on their own but also used in conjunction with each other or with other items for the Paint Pop Paint Stick range. The Paint Pop Paint Stick range is availble now from Smyths toys here
