We’ve had another busy week here. We’ve made the most of the mild weather all be it slightly damp some days but it hasn’t stopped us getting outside and enjoying the last week of the Easter holidays.
Sunday saw us at the local wildlife park, we decided to do a different walk to our usual one which meant abandoning the pushchair and opting for a sling for Erin. We took the boardwalk into the wetlands and explored hides we hadn’t been to in over two years. The walk winds around to the visitor centre where we enjoyed refreshments before heading back on the path we usually take along the river and back towards the town.
On Monday a CD I had ordered the previous week arrived so seizing the opportunity for an impromptu sing and dance along we put it on and had some fun! Rowan opted for a broom as his instrument of choice!
Tuesday was a day for picking up Luc’s new glasses, thread for me to alter Rowan’s school trousers as he starts part time next week and various other bits. That night Erin was so pleased to see her daddy and spent ages trying anyway possible to sit on him! finally she opted for sitting on his feet, funny girl!
Wednesday was wet, we should have visited the local coastal farm park with the breastfeeding support group but it was abandoned due to the weather. However by late morning it was drying up so I took the opportunity to set up a water play activity on the patio for my four and the child I was looking after. So armed with waterproofs we spent a lovely hour playing with bubbles, blue water with glitter in. You can read about our fun with water here
Thursday was baking day and we made shortbread stars, cup cakes and bread rolls.
Friday saw my mother in law and brother in law come to spend the day with us. My brother in law is a landscape gardener and he kindly spent the day doing work in the garden. While Luc took the opportunity to have some ‘me’ time and sit reading, his younger two brothers wanted to help and watch their uncle. They soon discovered a great game – been blown over by the leave blower! I managed to catch Trystan mid air!
This morning Luc decided he wanted to try out his uncle’s safety helmet and made me jump by suddenly appearing at the sitting room window wearing it, little monkey!
I hope your bread rolls were better than ours – ours were a ‘disarster’!
those blue glittery bubbles looks fun as does the trampoline photo.and thursdays baking sounds like my kind of day x
the bubbles were fab, patio had new look once we’d finished with them lol 🙂
great pictures and it sound like you had a super busy week 🙂
Lucky you having a brother-in-law willing to work on your garden! All in all a busy week by the looks of things – I do love the photo of Erin sitting on her Daddy’s feet, very cute.
I love that pic too 🙂 may have to get it made into a canvas
Looks like a busy week.Oh bread rolls, i keep meaning to bake some myself
That must have been a very dangerous game he was playing to need a safety helmet!
Busy weeks are good weeks! Gotta love the kids creativity!!
Love that jumping shot, brilliantly timed capture.
