Our Cafe Cagliari Moment

Sometimes there are days when you need to stop and take five minutes for yourself.  There’s been a few of those lately here, with the children running around and not listening, a mound and I really do mean a mound of washing piled on the floor in front of the washing machine and 101 other things to do.  Taking a step back to enjoy a coffee and clear your head is just what’s needed.
So when Cafe Cagliari sent us some of their Italian coffee capsules along with some very sweet espresso cups and sauces last week it provided us with that opportunity to relax amongst the chaos.
Friday evening after dinner and after a few of ‘those’ days myself and dad of 3 decided now was the time to try the Cafe Cagliari coffees.  Dad of 3 opted for the Elite Espresso while I thought I would try the Crem Espresso.   These pods are compatible with Nespresso machines, I’d made a mistake and thought our machine would take them but sadly the pods were just slightly too big.  Thankfully a friend came to the rescue and lent us there Nespresso machine (thank goodness for friends)  I think that just sums up how much ‘5 minutes out’ was needed!

I’ve learnt lately that escaping to the garden at dusk is a good time to take a breather and seized the opportunity to slip my gillet on and slip into the garden with my drink.  While dad of 3 put his ps4 on for a break while he enjoyed his Elite Espresso.  I’m not a huge coffee drinker but do enjoy the odd cup a couple of times a week.  Sitting on the garden bench with the sun going down, a cat sat next to me and the chickens going to bed was the scene I sat amongst.  The peace was lovely, a few birds cheeped as they went to bed and I sat cradling the espresso cup enjoying the creamy drink within.  It took the children ten minutes to realise I was not in the house as they had been watching their dad playing on the ps4 but sure enough as soon as they realised I was in demand again.  Venturing back indoors I asked dad of 3 what he had thought of his drink, he replied that he had enjoyed it, it was rich and strong and just the right amount.

Cafe Cagliari are a family company who have over 100 years of Italian history.  Four generations have now passed their knowledge of the origins of coffee across.  Now in present day Alessandra Cagliari who is the great great grand daughter of Ambrogio Cagliari (founder) is in charge of the marketing and packaging at Cafe Cagliari.  The qualitative and sensory standards of Espresso have been certified by the Italian Espresso National Institute (I.N.E.I.), which protects and promotes Italian Espresso.
