Project 365 – Week 11

Another week has passed and another busy week here but this time the majority of the week has been glorious sunshine which has made the daily tasks easier to complete and put smiles on just about everyone’s faces.  Annual school photographs have been completed and this year I decided against trying to have Erin’s taken with her brothers as last year was such a disaster!  So I’m eagerly awaiting the proofs of the boys photographs and hoping they are okay.
Sunday 9th March –
This evening I took the opportunity to spend some time quietly starting to complete a jigsaw.  Finding time for ‘me’ and some peace really isn’t easy the majority of the time so even the 20 minutes I gained while running a bath for the children was bliss.
Monday 10th March –
The sun was out again today and this afternoon while I was preparing the evening meal I noticed that one of the cats was enjoying the warmth of the sun inside the damaged playhouse and two of the chickens had decided to join her.  The cat really wasn’t bothered by the chickens company and happily sat there for a good half an hour until the chickens attention was caught by something and they went to investigate.
Tuesday 11th March –
I’m going through a phase of trying out new cake recipes and this evening while dinner was cooking I decided to attempt Mary Berry’s Chocolate Tray bake with feather icing.  I love Mary’s recipes, their not only simple and enjoyable but so easy to follow and make.  It was the first time I had used a piping bag and apart from the first shaky line I was quite pleased with myself.  The cake was delicious and quickly polished off by everyone.  I think I will be making this again somehow.
Wednesday 12th March –

After a busy day, I escaped to the garden to put the chickens to bed.  I stopped for ten minutes on the bench and listened to the bird song and the quietSometimes it’s these simple things that make a day.
Thursday 13th March –
The boys have an inset day tomorrow and I have a day off.  Typically I have lots to do including making a cake for Erin’s birthday.  So in the hope of occupying the older two I picked up the next two books in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series for the older two, fingers crossed I get some peace!
Friday 14th March –
This afternoon while Erin napped and the boys read and played quietly I managed to make a start on the cakes for Erin’s birthday.  Two hours later all cooked and cooling ready for me to transform when the children are in bed.
Saturday 15th March –
Happy 2nd Birthday Erin, I really can’t believe our little princess is two!  This morning I watched as she and Rowan played together with her present.  It really is lovely to watch these two together, they have such a great relationship.  In fact all the boys adore their sister and are very protective towards her.
