For the last few weeks we’ve, or should I say Rowan’s been putting the Trunki PaddlePak through it’s paces. I wanted to see if the PaddlePak would make a perfect school bag especially with the Winter months ahead that usually bring a fair amount of wet weather.
Rowan opted for Fin the Shark and was absolutely delighted when it arrived a few days later. He quickly set about getting his P.E kit ready to put in his new bag along with his snack for the next day and excitedly put it by the door ready for morning. But not before trying it on for size and running around the house telling everyone he was a shark!
Rowan currently only has to take P.E kit to school with him along with his packed lunch bag. Both of which fit nicely inside the PaddlePak and there is room for additional items too. There is also a very handy zipped pocket built into the tail of the shark which is perfect for keeping fruit money or money for own clothes day in.
PaddlePaks are both lightweight and waterproof both of which are ideal for school bags. I personally like the ingenious way the PaddlePak’s close, you simple fold the opening over twice and then using the clip fasten it up so that the contents of the PaddlePak stay dry. The shoulder straps are both padded and adjustable which makes the bag comfortable to be worn and carried by children. Rowan certainly found his easy to wear and comfortable and manages to open and close the PaddlePak independently. There is also a Trunki storage grip on one of the shoulder straps so you can attach a coat etc if you need too. Additionally the PaddlePak features a High-Visability Strip which is very handy for the Winter months when it gets dark earlier.
I love the fun aquatic designs that the PaddlePak comes in from Fin the Shark which Rowan has to Inky the Octopus and other aquatic animals. Rowan’s PaddlePak has gained a lot of attention from his class mates and parents asking where we got it. Rowan’s certainly been showing it off with pride!.
This last week we’ve been experiencing some very heavy rain here and the PaddlePak has kept its content completely dry despite us getting drenched on several occasions. So for me the PaddlePak makes the perfect school bag especially for younger children.
Fin the Shark retails at £24.99 along with Kaito the Killer Whale and Splash the Dolphin. But the other animals retail at £19.99. There is also a grab bag available as part of the range and a handy purse. Yes you may think it’s a tad expensive for a bag but the Trunki PaddlePak has so many uses from School bag as we’re using it to a swimming kit bag to a bag to take to the beach or on holiday. Plus for a fully waterproof bag you can’t fault it in my opinion and is worth the cost. If you would like to buy your own PaddlePak you can do so by popping over to Trunki here

We have a Paddlepak too but I have never thought to use it as a school bag; thanks for the idea. Love the shark design! Cate @meaddthree
