The search for the perfect coat for dad of 3

I know this may seem a strange topic to be talking about on the day the UK experiences its highest temperatures this year.  But we all know and appreciate the way the British weather works!  It is also handy to have a light weight coat handy for those slightly chiller summer nights and wet days.

Dad of 3 is quite difficult to buy for be that clothes or anything else.  He tends to have a definite idea in his head about what he likes and dislikes and sticks to it, between you and me it gets worse the older he gets!  Also like a lot of men he will claim he has no need for a coat and then complain when he gets wet or cold!

So the last week I’ve made a start looking for a coat for Dad of 3 with the view to put together a shortlist of ones I think he will like.  Then I will sit him down and show him them in the hope he likes at least one of them.  As things are manic here with the end of the school year, my time is being zapped with various things so I’ve opted for a spot of online window shopping.   While browsing the internet I came across MandM Direct  who have a great range of mens coats and jackets to suit all needs.  Here are a few I like:

timberland jacketThis Timberland Mens Mount Webster Waterproof Bomber Jacket, I like the fact that it looks lightweight yet is waterproof.  It could also be worn casually but is smart enough to wear in any situation.  Plus with £40 off the recommended retail price it’s a steal.

Then there is this Levi’s Mens Commuter Windbreaker III Ripstop Jacket  perfect for packing in a bag for days out as its lightweight and has a toggle adjustable hood and hem.  Again it’s a smart practical coat which wouldn’t look out of place on a commute to work or a walk along the coast.  This coat has a £85 saving which makes it the smart option if your counting your pennies.

levis windbreakerThe last coat I found that I think would suit dad of 3 is this Trespass Men’s Corvo hooded waterproof shell jacket. trespassLike the previous two coats it is waterproof and lightweight.  To be honest the main reason I like it is the colour, Dad of 3 can usually be found in dark colours so it would be really nice to see him in something a bit brighter.  It would also make an ideal coat for camping trips and long country walks with the family.  This Trespass jacket also has £40 of the recommended retail price so another bargain.

All three of these I’ve chosen could also see dad of 3 through the autumn as well as the summer so all would be good investments for dad of 3’s wardrobe.  Now I’ve just got to show them to dad of 3 and hope he likes at least one of them.
