Review – Poppit Shopkins Activity Pack

We love creative activities here and over the last few months its become one of Erin’s favourite things to do.  So when she found the Shopkins Activity pack we had been sent to try she was keen to get started straight away.   We’ve seen quite a lot of Shopkins products in the shops recently too and Erin has been asking for them all, as they do at four! but I have managed to resist.  So the activity pack was a bonus as far as Erin was concerned and she was so excited.

No I would have liked to have sat down with her and looking through the activity pack and reading the instructions before she could get started.  However the reality was I put the set on the table, went to fetch a cup of tea and returned to find she had started without me!  So I sat and had a read of the instructions while she got creative and in all fairness to her she was managing really well.  So I had a look through the content of the pack, which contains:

4 air drying clay colours, 8 moulds, instructions, some accessories to add to your shopkin creations and a tool to remove access clay from the moulds.

I was really impressed at how well Erin managed to do without my help, she seemed to know exactly what she was doing so I just watched her.  Although with that said I had to help her lock the moulds in place on the popping device but apart from that she managed on her own.  I was quite impressed by this as the box says this set is aimed at ages 5 + and Erin is only 4 so to be honest with you, I would say will a little supervision four-year olds could happily use this activity pack.   Erin spent over an hour getting creative with the moulds and even started over again if she wasn’t happy how her creation had turned out.  Once happy with her shopkin she added eyes and bows before making a start on another creation.

After an hour and a quarter Erin had managed to make four shopkins she was happy with and decided she going to stop for the time being.  She wanted to put them up somewhere high so I helped her put them on the mantel piece, but before I did she insisted on a photograph of them all together! So here they are

Erin certainly really enjoyed the Shopkins Activity Pack and it was lovely to watch her taking so much time and effort into creating her own shopkins.  That evening when dad of 3 returned from work she proudly showed him her shopkins and he spent some time asking her all about how she made them which was lovely.   I think we will certainly buy more items like this for her in the future as she thoroughly enjoyed the Shopkins Activity Pack.

Shopkins Activity Pack costs £14.99 and is available from www.character-online.co.uk along with the rest of the Shopkins range.
